Hi, I’m Christine Liem. I’m a graduate of North Schuylkill High School, The Pennsylvania State
University, and Bloomsburg State College. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with distinction in
Elementary Education from Penn State in May of 1977. I attained a Master of Education degree with highest
distinction from Bloomsburg in 1980. I’ve been employed as an elementary teacher for North Schuylkill since
September of 1977. I’ve taught in each of our elementary buildings and instructed every grade level first thru fifth. Currently, I teach fifth grade P.S.S.A. Preparation for Math, Reading and Writing at North Schuylkill Elementary. My e-mail address is cliem@northschuylkill.net.
Classroom Rules Page
1. Follow the rules as established in the North Schuylkill Handbook.
2. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated.
3. Be polite at all times.
4. When someone else is speaking you should be listening.
5. One boy and one girl are allowed to sign out of the room for bathroom privileges.
Discipline
I try to handle most of my own discipline problems. However, if I feel the case warrants further attention, I will write up the child for further disciplinary action. At this point, hopefully the administration will follow the disciplinary procedure as outlined in the student handbook.
Homework
Mr. Yarger wants the children to concentrate on their main academic subjects. So, he instructed me not to give homework in P.S.S.A.
Rewards
The best reward is the self-satisfaction of knowing you have learned something. However, I do give
stickers, bookmarkers, books, candy or food rewards for good grades on tests. In addition, sometimes we play
review games and the winning team or player often earns a small reward.
