My name is Cynthia Piatt, I love teaching!  I am a First Grade Teacher in Frackville Elementary School.  Before that I have worked for two and a half years for North Schuylkill as a full time day to day substitute.  I was also a first grade teacher for nine years in a Christian School.  Teaching is one of the most honorable and rewarding job a person could have besides parenting.  I truly believe that every child can be reached regardless of his or her learning abilities.  Success can not be measured by one standard as it is an individual endeavor with many standards.  I will do everything possible so that each child becomes successful in my classroom and that they arise to their fullest potential. By believing in them selves and respecting one another. I also believe every child has something unique to offer this world in which we live in.  I am continuing my education so that I can and will supply the best education possible preparing our future leaders.

In my classroom, I had made up 3 important rules they are: (1) Raise Your Hand before speaking, (2) Respect One Another, and last (3) Have a Great Day. During the first week of school I read the story “My Teacher is an Alien”.  Therefore, I made a “Behavior Alien” using 3 colors representing good, danger zone, you choose not to have recess.  The colors are green, yellow, and red.  Green is very good to be on you earned 30 minutes of recess.  If you landed on yellow, you did not follow the classroom rules and you lost 10 minutes.  Red means you didn’t follow the rules and continue misbehaving and you lost all of your recess.  I also have a daily behavior chart that the students earn stickers for.  Once they fill up the chart with stickers they get to pick from the surprise box.
