Ashland Elementary Center

Mrs. Patricia Brand’s First Grade Page

Welcome to first grade at Ashland Elementary Center.  I am excited to be a first grade teacher.  I believe that first grade is one of the most important years of schooling.  During the year, it is important to establish a foundation in reading and math as well as develop good work habits and study skills that will last a life time.  It is also important to develop a love of school and learning in each child.  With parent support, I am looking forward to seeing each child develop to his or her fullest potential while experiencing the joys of learning.  I send home a weekly homework assignment sheet every Monday for your convenience.  The homework is also listed on the Pottsville Republican Homework Helpline each night.  I want to thank each parent for being an active member of your child’s educational team.
