     I am a graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School.  I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in music and a Master of Education Degree, both from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

 

     I have taught 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades at the North Schuylkill School District.

 

     I reside in the Ashland area with my husband Mike.

 

 

Classroom rules

 

 

1.  Follow directions the first time they are given.

2.  Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking.

3.  Be prepared for class.

4.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

5.  Think, Learn, and Enjoy.

 

 

If a Student Chooses to Break a Rule:

 

1st Time – Warning

2nd Time – Ten minute time out in the classroom.

3rd Time – Loss of recess and writing assignment explaining behavior.

4th Time – Call parent that day to inform of misbehavior.

5th Time – Send to principal.

Severe Disruption – Immediately send to the principal.

 

     I follow the homework policy stated in the handbook.  Three missed assignments during the month result in an after school detention.  Students completing the month’s assignments are given a special reward.  (Examples – treats, Friday movie, free time for game or puzzles, etc.).

- Our series is called “ Collections” and consists of 6 themes which expose students to a

   variety of genres.

- Field Trip to Harrisburg State Museum in the Spring incorporates topics that have been

   covered.

 

Science

- Our textbook covers 3 units of study which include Life, Earth, and Physical Science

   topics.

Vocabulary Olympics

 

- This is a program designed to expand the vocabulary of our students.

- Each marking period students are exposed to a new list of vocabulary words, prefixes,

   suffixes, and root words.
