29th Year as a Physical Education Teacher in the

North Schuylkill School District

My Physical Education program at North Schuylkill Elementary has been designed to be of interest and benefit to all students.  I offer a wide variety of activities including team sports, individual sports, creative activities, locomotor and manipulative skills, aerobic and fitness activities, rhythmics, and recreational games.  Participation in activity affects the mind and attitude while one uses the body in movement.  The word EDUCATION is very important in Physical Education.  Our students not only perform physically, but also learn information about the skills, games, and types of movement they are experiencing. The program provides a stimulating atmosphere for the development of specific values which will be helpful to the participant throughout life.  Being able to cooperate, lead, follow, help others, accept defeat, enjoy the activity, and feel comfortable in the program, are only a few of the elements which I inject into each class. The students at North Schuylkill Elementary participate in Physical Education once per six day cycle.  Proper attire is required on this day to assure student safety.  Play clothes are recommended and sneakers are a must.  Students unable to participate in activity will be given appropriate assignments in order to meet grading requirements.  Please send a written notice of your child’s inability to participate including the reason why and the length of time the student is to be excused.

.

Grading for Physical Education is as follows:

                               O for Outstanding

G for Good

S for Satisfactory

N for Needs Improvement

U for Unsatisfactory
