*The children and I made up some classroom rules.
1. Listen carefully.
2. Follow directions.
3. Work quietly. Do not disturb others while they are
working.
4. Respect others. Be kind with your words and
actions.
5. Respect school and school property.
6. Work and play safely.

-When a child does
not follow a rule or rules they are first given a verbal warning.
-If the behavior
persists the child and I will discuss the situation and decide what the best
consequence is.
-If the behavior
still persists the child will be sent to the principals’ office and a note will
be written home to the guardian(s).

-If the child does
not do his/her homework the first time in the month a warning is written in the
homework assignment book.
-If the child does
not do his/her homework the second time in the same month another warning is
written in the homework assignment book.
-If the child does
not do his/her homework the third time in the same month they will receive a
detention. The guardian(s) will be notified
to pick up the child on the next detention date (Tuesday or Thursday) at
-This procedure
starts over the beginning of every month.

-Our class works as a
team. Every week the word Friday is
written on the blackboard. If the class
does not listen a letter gets crossed off of the word. If the class does well they get the letter
back. At the end of the week if there
are still letters left in the word they will receive a treat Friday afternoon.
-At the end of every
month the third grade class gets together for a discipline/homework
reward. If the child does not receive
detention and is on his/her best behavior they will receive the reward with the
rest of the third grade class.
