Journalism: This course documents 250 years of development in American journalism through the study of associated history and terminology of this literary genre. Class discussions and writing assignments are generated from current articles.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of non-elective 9th and 10th grade English courses

 

Vo-Tech English: Students will complete units in the areas of grammar/usage, writing skills, speech, short story/novel, drama/poetry, in-depth research writing and vocabulary development. Reading selections are from World Literature.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of 9th grade English

 

English 8: The eighth grade English curriculum is devoted to reviewing and reinforcing grammar skills while adding new, more complex information to the students’ previously acquired skills from grade seven. In addition to grammar, writing, vocabulary, and literature are incorporated into the year’s lessons.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of 7th grade English
