Dress Code Clarification
The dress code states that cargo pants are not permissible. When the code identifies that cargo pants are not permissible, it is the large side pockets that are the safety issue. The elimination of cargo pockets includes those on pants, trousers, slacks, capris, shorts, or any other type of pants that a student could wear following the dress code. The dress code does state that dress or casual shorts are permissible, but does not state that “cargo” shorts are permissible. Therefore, any garment with cargo type pockets is not permissible.
Secondly, the subject of “Skorts” has come to our attention. Since skorts resemble skirts in design, the rule for knee-length skirts, jumpers, or dresses applies. Therefore, skorts may be worn as long as they are knee-length and follow the dress code for skirts.
