Janel Babatsky — Elementary Principal
A proud graduate of North Schuylkill High School (Class of 2001), I went on to earn my Bachelor of Education in Special and Elementary Education from Kutztown University in 2005. I later completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership with Principal Certification from Alvernia College in 2009.
I am honored to serve as the principal of North Schuylkill Elementary, returning to lead and support the very district that shaped my educational journey. Prior to this role, I spent my entire teaching career with the Blue Mountain School District. During that time, I had the privilege of opening and teaching in an elementary Life Skills Support classroom for six years. My experience also includes teaching kindergarten/first grade and fourth grade learning support. Additionally, I served as Interim Assistant Principal for Blue Mountain Elementary West and Cressona for three months.
I am deeply committed to creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students. While teaching allowed me to impact one classroom at a time, I am excited to now support an entire school community as an administrator.
Outside of school, I enjoy running, reading, and spending quality time with my wonderful son, Owen, and our family. It is truly a privilege to give back to my alma mater and to help every student at North Schuylkill Elementary grow and thrive.
