Eli Peleschak

North Schuylkill Wall of Fame — Inducted June 2023

Eli M. Peleschak is a 1981 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. During high school, Eli was involved in many activities which included being a member of the wrestling and football teams as well as being the Vice President of his senior class. His accolades for wrestling include District XI champion and Most Outstanding Wrestler in 1981. During his football career, Eli played running back and linebacker and became the third player in school history (at that time) to rush for 1,000 yards in one season.

Eli went on to pursue his post-secondary education at The Pennsylvania State University and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Following graduation, Eli obtained his professional engineering license in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

After college, Eli started his civil engineering career with Alfred Benesch & Company in Pottsville. His career expanded 36 years and he worked on many highway, bridge, and water dam projects for local municipalities as well as projects throughout Pennsylvania and the United States. Advancing his career from staff engineer to Senior Vice President, Eli assisted in the design and management of over $1 billion in projects. What brought most joy in his career was coming back to Schuylkill County to live and complete projects for local municipalities which benefited both family and friends. He is also proud of having been able to mentor 7 other NS graduates as engineers for Alfred Benesch and Company.

Eli resides in Ringtown with his wife Jacqueline. They have two daughters, Elizabeth (Virginia Beach) and Abigail (Boynton Beach, Florida), who are both alumni of North Schuylkill and The Pennsylvania State University. Since his retirement in 2021, he has pursued his love for travelling, having visited 10 countries and 10 states.
